Fine Print...A Note from the Sponsoring Agency
It is with great pleasure that we anticipate the return of the Playshop program. We are convinced that one of the most important aspects of our camp is the fact that it is a journey, beginning with technique classes, where camaraderie and consideration are encouraged; where acting, dancing, and singing are taught; but one which always has as its destination the full performance, costumed, choreographed, and staged. The lessons learned in such an environment are invaluable ones: We depend upon each other to learn our lines, to stay in the moment, to concentrate, to learn the dance steps, to stay in character .
We depend upon one other to be on time, to be present every single day, to be responsible citizens. The discipline of theater offers the opportunity for great life lessons. Please consider the unique demands (and opportunities) such a camp offers before you choose Playshop as your summer experience. We require that each camper be at camp every single day, for the entire day. Doctor or dental appointments, early departures for weekend trips, sporting tournaments, etc., are acceptable reasons for missing our particular camp only at the discretion of the program director. Not only do absences deprive your child of the opportunity to grow within the framework of theatrical discipline, but you deprive your child’s fellow cast members of his/her important presence.
Since we cannot make schedule exceptions, thank you for carefully consulting your schedule before submitting an application for Plymouth Playshop.
Space limited (25 each session). Sessions will NOT be expanded beyond 25, and students will be notified as to their acceptance. Acceptance into the program takes place upon receipt of registration and the determination if a place in the session chosen is available.
